Kong KISA Shock Absorber
Suitable to create shock absorbing systems
Thanks to controlled rope slipping, KISA (Kong Impact Shock Absorber) is suitable to create shock absorbing systems. It can be used in two configurations, via two set of holes suitable for different diameters of rope (around 9mm or 11mm), allowing various degrees of friction.
The user can diy their own system by taking into account the types of rope and connections, number of forces involved, weights, environmental conditions (wet, dust, and snow make the rope stiffer and not so slippery), wear, and potential use scenarios. When correctly evaluated, those parameters obtain a system fine-tuned according his requirements. Remember that the free rope end must not slip out from the KISA, while giving enough length to absorb the greatest foreseen shock!
Because it is not possible to test all configurations and uses, this device is not a PPE and it has not been tested according to EN958.
