About RopesGear.com

RopesGear.com first opened shop in 2008, the passion-project of a couple of North Texas college roommates looking to sell gear for an activity they loved.  In 2024 the baton was passed to us, James, Mauria and the kids. 

Anyone who has kids or works with them knows how important the philosophy behind real life adventure is.  Like most people who spend time around ropes, harnesses and carabiners, we have diverse interests, a love of almost everything outdoors, and an insatiable hunger for adventure and challenge.  When we were presented the opportunity to take the helm of Ropes Gear, we jumped on it.  

It feels amazing being part of a community devoted to physical strength, mental toughness, grit and the kind of focus that's hard to find in this digital-first world. 

We've also been overjoyed to get to know the people who come to us for gear.  We've served thousands of customers including camps, schools, construction companies, arborists, sailors, churches, scouts, acting companies, roughnecks, rescue personnel and an alligator farm (with a zip line) 🐊🫨. 

We're working overtime to expand our offerings to meet the evolving demands of our customers, some of which have been with Ropes Gear since the beginning.  Thanks for letting us be a part of your mission!
