Kong has been safeguarding climbers since 1830 in the Alpine workshop of Giuseppe Bonaiti, with a vision to save lives on the world's most challenging peaks.  Bonaiti Industries became Kong in the 1970's, but their unwavering commitment to safety and innovation remains unchanged after nearly 200 years, and has made it the trusted choice for applications that  demand the highest standards. 

The entire production cycle, from design to packaging, is made in Kong's 10,000 square meter facility in Monte Marenzo, Italy.  Each item of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is tested piece by piece and then sold throughout the world. They're proud to say that, first of all, they are “manufacturers”, because it means they own their work.
